Why We Do What We Do
As a society, we are becoming far more conscientious of what we are putting in and on our bodies (you would not be reading this if you were not an educated consumer). As the demand for healthier non-toxic products grows, so goes our health. The good news, major corporations and the government are responding to the fast growing desire for safe, efficacious products. It is the small companies like ours that have been leading the movement toward these better, safer alternatives, most of which are not as expensive as the major brands. Large corporations are buying up these small companies and mass marketing them, think Burt’s Bees. We are thrilled to be one of the companies to offer outstanding, safe products. We do not use preservatives, most products have less than ten ingredients. Many essential oils are anti-fungal and anti-bacterial. Our products have been challenge tested for bacteria etc. we passed without the use of preservatives, parabens, and other nasty chemicals.
We grow many of our own herbs in our Spring Green, Wisconsin farm. They provide us with the bases of our medicinal blends and tintures. One of our major focuses is the propagation of butterflies and bees. They pollinate 75% of our crops. No crops, no food! To that end we have planted more than 300 pots of “pollinator palooza” We started these little darlings from seeds that were “winterized” and sprouted in the spring. I am thrilled to report that they are thriving. This spring we will be distributing them to help bring the butterflies and bees to other backyards and parks.
We need to take care of mother earth. She so generously gives us all of our basic needs. We are getting better at reducing our carbon footprint, making more fuel efficient cars etc.. There is a lot more work to be done, but together we can make a difference. Influence your friends and co-workers by doing little things such as using a glass or metal refillable water bottle instead of disposable plastic bottles. Not only will you save money, you will stop adding to the landfills. Small gestures can have huge positive consequences. Look at our blog, from time to time we will offer tips on healthier living for you, the plants and the planet.
